Flower Farming 101
Join us for this full-day intensive program that will give you all the information you need to get started with your own small flower farm or cut flower garden. This 10-hour course takes place on the farm and goes in depth into planning, planting, seed starting (for large quantities), business and marketing considerations, and much more. If you are a hands-on, visual type of learner, this course is for you!

Tentative Schedule (subject to change):
7-8 am: the business of flower farming (costs, budgeting, expectations, land, establishing your business)
8-10 am: determining your market, branding, marketing
10-11 am: plant/seed selection (years 1 and beyond)
(working lunch): 11-12:30: siting your field, irrigation, soil, light considerations
12:30-1:30: farm tour, in-depth look at irrigation, landscape fabric, bed prep, etc.
1:30-2:30: seed starting/soil blocking
2:30-3:30: planting considerations/maintenance
3:30-4:30: harvest and conditioning
4:30-5:30: market bouquet arranging, etc.
